The Aeolian sea is especially characterized by the presence of typical green fishes such as anchovies, sardines, mackerels and shellfish as well. Fishing of trawl, tuna and swordfish is typical in the archipelago; it usually happens at the end of the spring in Lipari and in Stromboli islands and other Sicilian fishermen arrive to the Aeolians in order to participate to this particular type of fishing.
